Seward

July 01   We picked up 3 RV's this morning.We're renting for 10 days. So we'll be having a caravan
of 4 RV's exploring parts of Alaska. First stop,

Walmart to load up for the next few days. Then off to the Seward area. It took us about 2 1/2 hours to get there.

We're camping for free tonight, found a really nice spot along Exit Glacier road, next to a river. As soon as we parked, everybody started leveling their rigs except for Randy....he just grabbed his fishing pole and was headed towards the river. He finally realized when you RV, there's things to take care of first. Was really rainy and cold so we just ate dinner in our own RV's. Needless to say, no fish tonight.

July 02   Today was a full day. We drove out to Exit Glacier visitor's center and did a hike out to the glacier. It was just a little over 1 mile one way but pretty strenuous because it was uphill. The glacier was really spectacular, was worth the hike.

Then we packed up our RV's and took a drive into Seward to go to the Alaska Sealife Center. We could use the Tour Saver 2 for 1 coupon so we ended up paying $10 each.  This sealife center is really nice with lots of animals.

Next, we drove to Cooper Landing for some gold panning at Prospector John's. Was $25 a bucket and everyone found some gold flakes and had a lot of fun.

Finally, we drove to our campground in Sterling. We stayed at the Real Alaskan RV Park for $35 per nite. Nice campground but when we pulled in it was raining pretty hard. This was the first time everyone hooked up. We were all drenched by the time we finished hooking up. I made spaghetti for dinner and everyone went to sleep pretty early after our full day of activities.
