July 05 We left Homer this morning and drove all the way to Portage Valley and camped at the Williwaw campground. Joe & I stayed here before and really liked it so we thought it would be a nice place to bring the family. Pretty cheap too, dry camping for $14 for a double site, using Papa Rudy's senior discount. It was pretty rainy when we got there, but decided to go on a short hike on the Trail of Blue Ice. It was a nice hiking trail with beautiful scenery but we had to cut it short because of the rain. Joe cooked some steaks in the rain and everyone piled into Miki & Kirby's RV to eat dinner. Got pretty cold this evening, dropped to around 40 degrees.
